KNOX Aegis 8 Plate Back Protector - RACE with extra coccyx protection
Named after the mythological protective shield of Zeus, king of the Greek Gods, the new KNOX Aegis back protector is the result of an intensive 12-month R & D programme.
The KNOX Aegis 8-plate RACE protector is designed for track use, with extra coccyx protection when crouched, while the 9-plate is suitable for taller riders (525mm torso).
Back protectors can be heavy, thick, bulky and hot and can even feel too restrictive when riding. The KNOX Aegis RACE Back Protector is 30% lighter and a more refined shape and thickness than previous models.
The weight is balanced evenly over the whole back and a system of flex channels allows it to sculpt around the back, making it more comfortable to wear even under tight outer riding apparel.
The KNOX Aegis RACE protector is completely breathable with a superior air venting system for maximum airflow.
The spine section articulates freely, moving with the rider and simultaneously ensuring maximum protection is maintained in all positions.
Wearing the incorrect size of back protector can result in an uncomfortable fit, limited protection and restriction in movement, so the KNOX Aegis protector is offered in 7 sizes engineered specifically for children, women and men.
Multi position waist strap system to give precision fitting which ensures that rider can fix the KNOX Aegis back protector in the correct position so it does not ride up during use.
New integral shoulder strap slider system that allows the straps to adjust automatically to the correct position while in use.
Side impact protection is achieved with a fully adjustable and removable kidney section in soft PU that gives added performance in this sensitive area.
Inclined cell wall technology gives this back protector improved energy absorption and the new KNOX Aegis is independently tested and approved to EN1621-2 Level 2: the highest rating possible under current EU testing regulations.
The KNOX Aegis spine section can be customised to create a personalised look for the wearer.
